Terms of service, 10 August 2026

Terms for the hosted service.

These terms govern docmancer.dev and Docmancer Cloud, operated by Kytona Limited. The local Docmancer package remains governed by its MIT licence, and these terms do not restrict rights granted by that licence.

01

Service and accounts

You must provide accurate account information, protect credentials and recovery material, and be legally able to enter this agreement. You are responsible for authorized users, devices, workspace content, and lawful processing.

02

Plans and billing

Personal Sync costs $5 monthly or $36 yearly, including applicable VAT, and renews automatically on the interval you select until cancelled. Stripe handles payment details, invoices, and tax calculation. You can cancel online from the billing portal at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current paid period. Monthly-to-yearly changes take effect immediately with an invoiced prorated credit, while yearly-to-monthly changes take effect at annual renewal.

03

Refunds and billing corrections

We do not ordinarily offer discretionary goodwill refunds. This does not affect mandatory cancellation, refund, cooling-off, or other statutory rights that apply to you, and we will correct billing errors. Contact support through the address shown on the site or reply to a billing email.

04

Failed payments and hosted data

A failed renewal starts a seven-day full-sync grace period, followed by a thirty-day pull and export recovery window. Hosted ciphertext is deleted after that window. Paying successfully during recovery clears the payment-failure deadlines unless you separately cancelled the subscription. Local Docmancer and local records remain usable throughout.

05

Customer data

You retain rights in customer data and authorize us to process it to provide the service. You are responsible for having the rights and lawful basis to sync it. The service cannot decrypt memory without device keys or recovery-kit material.

06

Acceptable use

You must follow the acceptable-use policy. We may suspend harmful or unlawful hosted activity, normally with notice where practical. Suspension of the hosted service does not alter the MIT-licensed local package.

07

Availability and changes

  • We aim to operate a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability
  • Protocol support is versioned and migrations are designed to be non-destructive
  • Material service or price changes receive reasonable notice
  • Beta and preview functions may change and are identified as such

08

Liability and law

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability is limited to fees paid for the service in the preceding twelve months, except where liability cannot legally be limited. These terms are governed by England and Wales.
